( Zara crop top, Ralph Lauren deer skirt via Crossroads Trading,
Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane, Forever21 hat )
It may not look like it but this is Los Angeles on one of those rare occasions where it actually rained.
The slightly colder weekend called for an extended length of my usuals - a crop top & a skirt.
Picked up this cool wrap skirt at Crossroads. I couldn't resist once I saw the buckle details and my favorite, the deer.

Part one of my Palm Springs photo diary series.
Probably the smallest my outfit list above may have been and yet ironically it is one of the most dramatic pieces I have worn. What more can I ask for in the desert than simplicity + drama?
Stay tuned for Part 2 of my photo diaries.... xx

On the Road

The Peach Kings - Thieves & Kings
worn as top, Nasty Gal cutoff shorts,
worn as headband &  c/o  (Get 10% off the ring using the code "voguevillain")

Never been one to say no to bell sleeves.
On the road again on a quick trip to San Francisco and I visited the Alameda Antiques Fair for the first time. I highly recommend this flea market but make sure to get there early and be prepared to walk for hours! I don't think I even covered half of it but I was happy to leave with a skull I found for such a bargain. (Haggling newbie but it actually worked!)
I'm wearing a dress by Stone Cold Fox with beautiful bell sleeves that I wore as a top because the length was a bit awkward for me. I feel like it almost looks better as a top. And to continue being a non-conformist on wearing pieces how they are supposed to be worn, I'm wearing a necklace by as a headband. Check out her site and get 10% off the ring I'm wearing with the code "voguevillain" !

Black & Nude: The classics.
Being stripped from the usual quirky prints and colors felt oddly liberating.
It was a nice change of scenery but I brought a cat with me in case I got bored.

Manhattan, NY

Cat Power - Manhattan
Brandy Melville dress, Forever 21 Kimono (), Zara Platform Sandals, Thrifted hat
A very belated NYFW outfit post at the High Line.
The High Line is one of my favorite places to visit in New York and bonus points for being right by Artichoke pizza. It is a bit touristy but I love walking along the old train tracks tucked away in Manhattan surrounded by greenery and gorgeous views of the city.
Departing with a kimono jacket is difficult mainly due to laziness and the ease of
throwing it over any outfit.
More New York updates coming along!

Best Coast

( Crimson and Kali Dress via Crossroads Trading, Flea Market Floral Crown, Vintage Boots )
Can't help but always go back to my boho roots. With lace trims and a wispy form to adapt to any summer breeze, this is the dress of Californian dreams. Who knew that a dress like this would be waiting for me at Crossroads Trading?
Also just wanted to note it's definitely possible to construct a decent outfit from thrifted finds.
Trying to soak up all the sun I can get since I'll be leaving for New York Fashion Week next week.
Let me know if any of you will be attending! I would love to meet up :)

The Flowering

Sir Sly - Ghost

(Brandy Melville Jada Dress, Brandy Melville Soriya Bra, Forever 21 shoes)
This outfit pretty much sums up my summer wardrobe.
I'll never be tired of flowy dresses I can just throw on when I'm on the go, especially ones I can show off pretty bralettes with. I love the simplicity of each piece yet the unique details that aren't overbearing.
Be prepared to see posts similar to this one throughout the rest of the season.
What's summer without florals?

Kaleidoscopic Galaxy

 Daughter - Get Lucky

Galaxy Glass Blouse, H&M circle skirt, Topshop Crown, Sandals c/o
Blog post hiatus excuses coming up but it's a good one. I had my wisdom tooth pulled. Yikes.
Anyway, I love Clover Canyon's vivid and whimsical prints. This blouse makes me feel like I'm looking through stained glass windows at a Cathedral located in outer space. I paired the blouse with a much simpler scuba circle skirt from H&M.
I've been on the hunt for cute comfy footwear that can be my go to shoes when I'm in a rush and voila, Yeswalker has answered my prayers to the shoe gods.

how to style floral dress
vogue villain( For Love and Lemons , Dolce Vita Garren Wedges )

I'm back! I don't know if it's due to the early signs of a summer transition but I'm sort of on a floral streak.
So happy to have come across this dress from For Love and Lemons. I love that the watercolor floral prints aren't overwhelming and my favorite part about the dress is the breezy mesh panel.

Hanni El Khatib - Penny

(Brandy Melville Top, DIY Forever 21 Kimono Jacket via ,
H&M Crochet Scallop Shorts, Vintage Boots)
The transition to sunnier days is a calling to throw on flowy, chiffon pieces - one of my favorite types. Also, I couldn't help myself. The ombré is back but more subtle this time around. The kimono jacket is actually from Forever 21's lingerie collection with DIY lace trims by the talented  that I won in her giveaway! I'm so drawn to the lacey details that gives just the right amount of texture besides its floral counterpart.
Can't ever get tired of kimono jackets especially when they're the easiest way to dress up the basics for those lazy days.
